Clinton Minault
Beastly Two-Eyed Festival See-er
Churchill Square
Artist Statement
Previously loved woods, chopped up; reincarnated into a lookout where you can view the Works Festival. Wild Woods Bison are herbivores with eyes on the sides of their heads, live life through Two-Eyed Seeing. Introducing the Indigenous Lens reminds us to be conscious of our ecological footprints.
about the artist
Clinton Minault is a two-spirit, Metis individual, currently attending MacEwan University, Studio Arts program, completing a BFA, with goals of continuing on to earn an MFA. Born and raised in northern Alberta has directed my interests in nature, while being later introduced to a metropolitan center influenced my passion for design. Learning about traditional Indigenous Arts inspires much of my artworks. Therapeutic release during production and audience viewing are intended through simple natural elements of life in a surreal context.
