Alley of Light: Exhibit 6

Fall 2020 featured images from the body work, Critical Pieces by artist Monique Martin.

We encourage you to check out Monique’s vibrant work displayed on the south wall of the historic Armstrong Block building.

About the Exhibit

Monique Martin - “Humans use disparaging and derogatory self-talk and negative internal conversations at times. We are often hypercritical and yield to societal standards that are perpetually changing.

Dandelion pieces, rather than the whole, are used as a symbol of critical pieces. Each person is essential, valued and a critical part of other people’s lives.”

About the Images

The images presented are taken from original 72” x 24” linocuts, printed on vellum.  These same linocuts were also made into handwoven rugs in Nepal.
