Fluidity

Alley of Light: Exhibit 7

Summer 2021 featured images from the painting series Fluidity, by artist Brandi Masson.

We encouraged you to check out Masson’s organic, amorphous forms, displayed on the south wall of the historic Armstrong Block building.

About the Exhibit

“In 2020/2021, the world was hit with the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Fear, despair, alienation, and loss have become predominant themes for many.  This body of work was chosen for it’s message resilience, overcoming obstacles, and learning how to be fluid in the face of circumstances.”

- Gabriela Rosende, Exhibit Curator

About the Images

When Masson’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, she began to explore art to escape the burdens of the mind, and be present in the moment.  After her mother’s passing, Masson continued to create, as a means of meditation, healing, and interconnectivity; a way to connect with spirit in a familiar context, and to ground herself in the process of creation.  “Living through growth and gratitude” has become her mantra and philosophy towar
